The Hope Center of Hendersonville is a Christian day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for energetic and friendly people to use their enthusiasm and compassion to encourage the individuals we serve to participate in a variety of recreational and educational activities. The Hope Center is open Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

It is our mission to nurture an environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued, provided opportunities, and treated with God's love and compassion.

Employment Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds

  • Ability to stand and move for several hours

  • Ability to work with individuals who have multiple disabilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to follow instructions

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Essential Requirements and Responsibilities

-Enjoys working with people with I/DD both on a one-on-one basis and in a group setting.

-Able to work as a team player sharing ideas and offering solutions while using critical thinking skills and sound judgment.

-Self-motivated and able to multitask effectively

-You must agree to maintain confidentiality and treat members with dignity and respect.

-Able to take direction, as well as respect and follow the management chain of command.

-Friendly and cooperative; flexible and adaptable.

-Must maintain a professional attitude.

-Dedicated and dependable.

-Must be able to assist with personal care such as: toileting, changes, meal assistance, etc.

-Able to pass criminal background checks, drug screening, and TB test.

-Must not be listed on the List of Excluded Individuals or Entities or the NC Department of Health and Human Services Health Care Personnel Registry.

All staff is required to take mandatory competency-based courses that include, but are not limited to CPR/First Aid, cultural competency, I/DD specific courses, policy, and procedure review. Courses are required both online and in classroom settings.
