The Hope Center of Hendersonville, formerly Hope Academy, is a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

After experiencing a need in our community for a day program for adults with disabilities, Hope Academy was founded in 2007. We were a donation funded ministry of Mud Creek Baptist Church for 12 years. In 2017 we received our 501(c)3 nonprofit . As our program continued to grow, we began the process necessary to bill Medicaid funded services for our members. This included CARF International Accreditation, licensure from North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and acceptance and credentialing through Vaya Health Provider Network.

In early 2020, Hope Academy re-branded with a new name to better represent our program, The Hope Center of Hendersonville. We have also purchased a larger facility to better accommodate our growing program. It is our mission to reach the unreached and provide a day program that will fill our member’s days with meaningful activities, choice on how they spend their time, opportunities to socialize and build friendships, and continued life skill development.

It is our mission to nurture an environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued, provided opportunities, and treated with God's love and compassion
